E-commerce deals surge by 16% in 2019

China's e-commerce industry continued to thrive last year despite mounting downward economic pressures and lingering trade tensions, according to a report from the Ministry of Commerce. China led the world in e-commerce, with about 51.26 million people employed in the sector in 2019. The country's e-commerce transactions hit 34.81 trillion yuan ($4.9 trillion) last year, with online retail sales reaching 10.63 trillion yuan, up 16.5 percent year-on-year.

Hongqi sales rise by 111% in first half

FAW Group said vehicle sales under its Hongqi brand rose by 111 percent on a yearly basis during the first six months of this year. Despite the effect of the novel coronavirus outbreak, more than 70,000 Hongqi cars were sold in the last six months as the company expanded its online and offline sales channels. In June alone, 15,400 cars of the brand were sold, representing a 92-percent year-on-year growth.
