Argentina U-23 defender Medina joins RC Lens

BUENOS AIRES - Highly-rated Argentinian defender Facundo Medina has joined newly-promoted RC Lens from Talleres de Cordoba, the French Ligue 1 club said on Thursday.
The 21-year-old, who has represented Argentina at Under-20 and Under-23 level, signed a four-year deal reportedly worth $4 million.
"I wanted to have Facundo in our ranks. He has a great temperament and the daring approach of a young player," Lens manager Franck Haise said on the club's official website.
"He already has experience and a good technique despite being just 21 years old. He is a young player who will fit perfectly into the club's DNA."
Lens earned promotion to France's top division in April, when Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 seasons were called off early because of the coronavirus pandemic. Lens were second in Ligue 2 when the decision was made.
