IOC, FIFA presidents highlight importance of sports during pandemic

GENEVA - International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach and International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) president Gianni Infantino agreed that sports is more important than ever to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two presidents met at the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday, discussing the current situation facing sport and the postponed Tokyo Olympic Games.

Infantino joined the IOC after being elected member during the 135th IOC Session on January 10, 2020. He will participate in the next Session held online on July 17, 2020.
