SARAJEVO - The 80 ventilators purchased by the government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH), one of the two entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH), have arrived from China ,state-own media Fefa reported on Sunday.

The government of the Federation of BiH purchased ventilators to support its health system and their fight against the coronavirus pandemic, said FBiH Prime Minister Fadil Novalic after the plane landed. He added that not all of the equipment could come at once, and the remaining 20 ventilators will arrive in the next flight.

"We appreciate every donation from our friends, but a pandemic is a worldwide problem and everyone has trouble in getting equipment. So the Government decided to buy ventilators worth 10.5 million KM (5.79 million U.S. dollars)," he said.

Novalic noted that with the equipment, FBiH health system will become even stronger to cope with the pandemic.

To date, BiH has reported 1,488 coronavirus cases and 59 deaths.
