Italian professor in Wuhan shares China's lessons with her hometown

Italian professor Sara Platto, who chose to stay in Wuhan, has new mission of sharing China's anti-epidemic practices with her hometown so as to help them survive the infection of novel coronavirus.
From elevator use, temperature checks to buying daily necessities, she shared with her Italian family and friends useful experiences in fighting against COVID-19.
"Wuhan's epidemic prevention experience has proven its effectiveness. And Italy has already introduced many anti-epidemic practices as Wuhan, including the shutdown of the country," Platto said.
Platto, an associate professor at Jianghan University's School of Life Sciences and a science consultant at the China Biodiversity Conservation and Green Development Foundation, believed in China and chose to stay in Wuhan during the epidemic.
During the shutdown, her neighbors and friends shared with her food, information and way to deal with life under epidemic. Li Chun, a community staff member, even helped with her pet.
The novel coronavirus is now hitting Italy and the rest of the world. Therefore, Platto tries to share the city's practices with her family and friends through social media.
Her first suggestion is to take strict control of public facilities and regular disinfection to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.
She also shared a video of a Chinese woman making a face mask at home and how to make a small spray bottle to spray alcohol for disinfection.
"At this moment, we must all unite. We have to hold hands, even with people we don't know, because everyone needs us now, and we need everyone," she said.
