NW China's Shaanxi province to reopen sports venues

XI'AN - Northwest China's Shaanxi province on Thursday has issued an announcement that it will reopen sports venues and resume sports activities while taking measures to ensure public health, after month-long closures to curb the spread of COVID-19.
According to the announcement released by the Shaanxi Sports Bureau, all public outdoor sports venues and equipment are given the green light to re-open, while indoor venues can reopen in batches.
Swimming pools and other poorly-ventilated indoor venues would remain closed until getting approval from the local sports bureaus, said the announcement.
The venues should inform citizens of the opening hours, available services and the epidemic control measures, the release said.
In order to maintain distancing, the sports venues can receive customers at no more than a half of their capacities, it added.
The province's sports governing body also encouraged enterprises and public institutions to organize sporting activities on a proper scale.
Except an imported COVID-19 case, Shaanxi has reported no new infections for 28 consecutive days.
