Ambulance driver works 40 days straight

Dai Xiquan has been working for 40 consecutive days, driving 4,000 kilometers since Jan 27, when the hospital he worked in received the first fever patient suspected of infection by the novel coronavirus, or COVID-19.

The 55-year-old ambulance driver from Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area No 2 People's Hospital volunteered to transfer the patient for treatment. Since then, he has made 287 transfers. To avoid cross-infection, he hasn't gone home.
