Vivid colors paint the Quangou River Valley in early spring

On Longshou Mountain about 30 kilometers from Jinchang City in Northwest China's Gansu province, there is a beautiful place called the Quangou River Valley.

Now that it is early spring, it's getting warmer in Jinchang. A frozen stream has not completely melted, leaving the translucent ice looking like a white ribbon winding among the surrounding red and brown Yadan landscape. It's an extraordinary scene with native animals about, a wild and interesting slice of the natural world.
