The festival makes use of the lighting art of Zigong lanterns, a Chinese tradition with thousands of years of history. Colombia provided design ideas, and Zigong lantern manufacturers in China designed and built the devices. Alejandro Munoz, spokesman for the botanical garden, praised the exhibition. "Visitors are able to learn about animals and plants that live in various environments while in the garden. The visit is both entertaining and educational. "

Brighten Colombia won't stop in Bogota. Next year, the festival will also be held in other Colombian cities and other Latin American countries are preparing similar activities.
