Ex-Brazil forward Sobis joins Ceara
RIO DE JANEIRO - Former Real Betis and Brazil international forward Rafael Sobis has joined Ceara as a free agent, the Brazilian Serie A club said on Sunday.
The 34-year-old signed a 12-month contract after parting ways with Internacional de Porto Alegre in December.
"With all of his experience, Rafael Sobis will wear the Ceara colors in 2020," the club said in a social media post. "[We] will soon reveal more information about his official presentation as a Ceara player," it added.
Sobis began his professional career at Internacional in 2004 and has also represented Real Betis, Al-Jazira, Fluminense, Tigres UANL and Cruzeiro.
He scored six goals in 46 matches across all competitions for Internacional in 2019.
Ceara finished 16th in the 2019 Brazilian Serie A championship, just three points clear of the relegation zone.
