SHANGHAI - Chinese star speed skater Wu Dajing, who injured his waist in Saturday's men's 500m final of the ISU World Cup Short Track Speed Skating, entered the second 500m quarterfinals on Sunday but failed to make the next round.
Wu, the reigning Olympic champion in the distance, had been doubtful for Sunday's competition after he crashed at the final corner in Saturday's final and was then taken to hospital in an ambulance.
The 25-year-old Chinese had to settle for a silver in his signature 500m event in Shanghai.
