ACCRA - Ghana has moved four places in the latest FIFA world ranking released on Thursday.

The West African nation climbed up from the 51st position to the 47th, after gaining 13 points to increase its points build-up from 1,426 to 1,439 points.

The Black Stars are now occupying the 6th position in the continental pecking order behind Senegal, Tunisia, Nigeria, Algeria, and Morocco.

Ghana's rise could be attributed to its wins over South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe respectively in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers played earlier in November to top Group C.

The African top five in the global ranking remain unchanged.
