Beijing mall Joy City promotes animal-friendly lifestyle

The Joy City shopping mall in Beijing recently promoted "animal-friendly lifestyle", which requires people to say no to animal circus and wild animal products and to keeping wild animals as pet, in cooperation with the World Animal Protection.An exhibition showcasing wildlife facts and conservation efforts with the help of large posters and interactive installations was held on the first floor of the mall.

Sun Quanhui, an expert from the World Animal Protection, said one who lives animal-friendly lifestyle would respect the lives of animals and try to reduce the negative effects that our consumption behaviors might cause to animals.

"We should protect and treat animals kindly in our daily lives, which is necessary for the sustainable development of human beings and our society," he added.
