Qatari official hails Kuwait's support for 2022 FIFA World Cup


KUWAIT CITY - Kuwait is one of the biggest supporters of Qatar to host a successful 2022 FIFA World Cup, a Qatari official said on Monday.
At a forum organized by the Kuwait's Youth Public Authority (YPA), Nasser Al Khater, CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, hailed the Kuwait's support, stressing that the preparations for the event are going excellently.
He added that Qatar hosts the World Cup as it has the greatest impact on the development and acceleration of infrastructure, as well as its role in sustainability and economic development in the country.
Great facilities will be prepared for all the fans coming from all over the world to attend the World Cup, he noted.
About 20 thousand volunteers will be at the service of fans, while the matches will be played on eight stadiums, he said.
He explained that all the stadiums have air conditioning systems, although the tournament will be held in winter.
Fans who will participate in this big sport will be able to attend more than one game in one day thanks to the modern transportation network that Qatar has prepared to receive the World Cup, he noted.
The four-day forum started on Sunday with participation of youth from GCC countries, Jordan and Morocco.
