Senior Chinese official meets IOC president


BEIJING - Yang Jiechi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, met with International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach here on Tuesday.
Yang, also director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, applauded Bach's efforts to promote the development of the global Olympic Movement and cooperation between the IOC and China.
He said China will continue to work closely with the IOC to make preparations for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Bach said the IOC is pleased to see that the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics have been fruitful and is grateful for the Chinese government's full support. He said the IOC is ready to work with China to guarantee a green, clean and successful Olympics.
