HK police officer offers well-wishes for Mid-Autumn Festival

Hong Kong's "bald sergeant" Lau Sir wishes everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival, with hopes that the young people will embrace the city's hard-won prosperity and stability.

Lau was recently in the spotlight after drawing a gun to warn off protesters when he and his colleague were caught in a conflict near Kwai Chung police station on July 30. A cartoon illustration by a Chinese mainland artist featuring Lau went viral on the internet. Lau is also among several officers invited to attend a gala show in Beijing on Oct 1 to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
