GAC Honda to recall 222,674 vehicles

BEIJING - GAC Honda, the joint venture between Honda and Guangzhou Automobile Group, will recall 222,674 vehicles in the Chinese market, according to China's top quality watchdog.
The recall, set to begin on Aug 30, will involve 222,674 Accord models made between July 25, 2017 and Aug 7, 2019, said an online statement by the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
Due to defective airflow apparatus of condenser outlets, condensate water may drop into the combustor when the vehicles drive in high humidity and high-temperature environments, leading to engine failure and posing safety risks, the statement said.
The automaker will replace the defective parts of the affected vehicles free of charge, according to the statement.
