Ajax, Bayer Leverkusen reach deal on Sinkgraven transfer

THE HAGUE - Ajax and Bayer Leverkusen have agreed on a move of Dutch footballer Daley Sinkgraven to Germany, the Dutch club announced on Monday.
The left-footed player, who played on midfield and defense for Ajax, had a contract until 2020 at Ajax.
The transfer fee is around five million euros ($5.6 million). He will sign a contract for four years at the Bundesliga club that qualified for next season's Champions League.
The 23-year-old Sinkgraven joined Ajax from sc Heerenveen in January 2015. In total he played 86 official matches for Ajax, in which he scored once.
Partly due to a severe knee injury, Sinkgraven did not manage to get a breakthrough in Amsterdam. In January this year he made his comeback after a one-year absence and he contributed to Ajax winning the Dutch championship.
At Leverkusen, Sinkgraven is reunited with former Ajax coach Peter Bosz, with whom he worked at Ajax in the 2016/2017 season. It was Bosz who transformed Sinkgraven from an attacking midfielder to a left back.
