China sweeps Japan Open 2019

BEIJING - China scooped all five gold medals at the Seamaster 2019 ITTF World Tour Platinum Japan Open 2019 on Sunday.
After beating top seed Fan Zhendong earlier Sunday, Xu Xin went on to beat Chinese Taipei's Lin Yun-Ju 4-1 (11-9, 14-12, 8-11, 11-3, 11-8) in the men's singles final.
It was Xu's third medal here as he also teamed up with Fan to claim the men's doubles victory, beating German pair of Benedikt Duda/Qiu Dang, 3-0 (12-10, 11-9, 11-7) and bagged the mixed doubles title with Zhu Yuling.
The women's singles final took place between two Chinese players, Sun Yingsha and Liu Shiwen. Sun, with her younger age, beat Liu 4-3 (11-4, 11-9, 4-11, 6-11, 7-11, 11-8, 11-3) in final. It was her second women's singles title at the Japan Open after her first triumph in 2017.
"This is my second open title, both in Japan, and hopefully these two titles will help me improve in the future," Sun said.
The women's doubles final was also a Chinese derby, with Chen Meng/Liu Shiwen besting Sun Yingsha/Wang Manyu 3-1 (11-9, 11-6, 7-11, 11-9).
