The first three otters born and raised in Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park made their public debut during the recent Dragon Boat Festival when they were about 100 days old.

Born on Feb 28, the triplets – one female and two male – were the first batch of animals bred by the park, which was opened to the public in 2018.

Listed as one of the country’s protected animals, the three oriental small-clawed otters, the smallest of its kind in the world, have been feeding on chicken breast, salmon, fruits and vitamins to get the nutrients they need, according to the park.

The park added that the otters were able to play in the water with their mother one week after their birth.
