China lauches top level international rowing competition in Guizhou


China is set to host another top level international rowing event in Liupanshui, Guizhou Province.
The Chinese Rowing Association announced on a press conference on Thursday in Shanghai that the 2019 Zangke River International Rowing Masters Competition will start on November 8 and last for three days.
The event is an international A-class competition, which will be divided into a masters group for professional athletes as well as a business and elite group.
In addition to more than 40 top rowers from around the world, over 300 domestic entrepreneurs, amateurs from rowing clubs and enterprises' business schools will also take part.
Chinese rowing association executive vice president Chen Chunxin says the competition will usher in more enthusiasm in the sport in Guizhou, and promote the traditional rowing culture in China.
Zangke River, located in Liuzhi special zone of Liutanshui city, is surrounded by mountains with an altitude of 725 meters. Within its four kilometer range, the river area owns an altitude elevation of over 1400 meters.
The head of Liupanshui Sports Bureau Yang Jijun said the geographic characters meet the standards to build a multi-gradient sports training base in the Zangke River area, and with the wind force grade of the river surface relatively stable, it provides a steady competition environment for the contest.
Local authorities said that Zangke River Scenic Spot's popularity and reputation is expected to be further improved through the launch of the competition, so as to attract more sports teams for training and provide strong support for the local poverty population to increase their income.
