Yang Hao claims 10m platform gold for China at FINA Diving World Series in Kazan

MOSCOW -- Chinese diver Yang Hao claimed gold in the men's 10m platform, winning his second title and a fifth gold as the FINA Diving World Series concluded in Kazan on Sunday.
Yang, who won the synchronized platform title with Chen Aisen at the 2017 World Championships, produced Back 2.5 Somersaults pike and Forward 4.5 Somersaults tuck at the two final attempts, scoring a combined 537.05 points, 14 points more than that of the 2018 European champion Aleksandr Bondar, who took silver on 522.60. British diver Thomas Daley grabbed bronze with 520.40 points.
In mixed 3m synchronized springboard, Chinese pair Tai Xiaohu and Chen Yiwen finished second on the podium, edged by Australian challengers Domonic Bedggood and Maddison Keeney with their season's best 318.12 points. Thomas Daley added another medal to his haul as he partnered Grace Reid to win the bronze medal.
Chinese divers also had no luck to win title in women's 3m springboard. Canadian Jennifer Abel, 30 points ahead of silver medalist Lin Shan of China, landed atop of the podium. Lin's compatriot Chang Yani bagged a bronze.
The fifth leg of 2019 FINA/CNSG Diving World Series is slated for May 17-19 in London.
