The Navy's largest-ever sea parade is held. The parade, involving more than 10,000 Navy personnel, 48 ships and 76 naval aircraft, takes place in the South China Sea and is observed by President Xi Jinping.

A stone pillar is unveiled on Yongshu Reef. It bears an inscription expressing China's will to safeguard the peace and stability of the South China Sea, and illustrates the Chinese people's determination to protect the country's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.
