MIAMI -- Argentina and Colombia will co-host the 2020 Copa America, the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) said on Wednesday.
CONMEBOL ratified the decision in a meeting of its board in Miami, during which the organization ruled out a bid by the United States to stage the tournament for the second time in five years.
An equal number of group stage and knockout matches will be played in Colombia and Argentina with the latter set to host the final, CONMEBOL said.
This year's Copa America will be played in Brazil from June 14 to July 7.
CONMEBOL last year announced that the competition would be held again in 2020 before reverting to a four-year cycle in line with the European Championship.
