British duo prepare for 3-city tour of China
British electronic duo Honne will return to China with a three-city tour, Shanghai on March 14, Chengdu on March 16 and Beijing on March 18, in support of their latest album, Love Me / Love Me Not.
Formed by James Hatcher and Andy Clutterbuck in 2014, the band made their debut tour in the country in 2018.
"We've been touring a lot since releasing our new album Love Me / Love Me Not and our show as a whole is now the best it's ever been. The set has a selection of new and old songs, it's dynamic and exciting but with quiet moments. We hope the audience find our performances energising, warm and fun," the duo says. "Our first couple of shows in China were really memorable. The audiences welcomed us with open arms, singing and dancing along. It's always exciting to play in front of new crowds, but also very exciting to go and explore a new place, and China was a place we'd wanted to go to for a long time."
Last year, they also invited Chinese singer-songwriter Zhou Bichang to their show in Shanghai where they met her afterwards. On March 8, the duo will release a new version of their hit, Crying Over You, which is their collaboration with Zhou.
The two members met on the first day of university and started jamming together. The idea of forming a band hit it off straight away. They worked together on many different projects from that point, but it wasn't until around 2014 that they formed, and started writing, for Honne. The name of the band means "innermost feelings" in Japanese, which was the idea of Clutterbuck, who is interested in Japan and its culture after he lived there for a time.
