Ronaldo, Messi to miss out on Ballon d'Or as 'leaked' winner revealed

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi will both miss out on the Ballon d’Or award, it has been claimed.
Ronaldo and Messi, of Juventus and Barcelona respectively, have both won the Ballon d’Or between them every year since 2007.
AC Milan hero Kaka was the last player outside of the duo to claim the award with Ronaldo and Messi dominating world football in the 11 years since.
Cristiano Ronaldo is determined to win the Ballon d’Or award for a sixth time, recently saying: "I already know, in my heart, that I am one of the best players in history."
"It would be a lie to tell you the opposite. I work for that."
However, journalist Eric Macruth - who works for French radio station RFI, claims both players have missed out on the award.

And it is Luka Modric, of Real Madrid, who will win the prize and end both Ronaldo and Messi’s dominance of the accolade.
Modric recently beat Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to FIFA’s Best Player award.
The Croatia international helped Real Madrid win the Champions League back in May, for the third year on the trot.
And the veteran also helped his country reach the World Cup final.
Raphael Varane coming second would be no surprise.
The Real defender continued his development with a stunning year, winning both the Champions League and World Cup.
And few would argue with Kylian Mbappe making the top three.
Mbappe propelled PSG to another Ligue 1 title earlier this year, starring alongside Neymar and Edinson Cavani in attack.
And the youngster also scored in the final as France won the World Cup for the first time since 1998.
