Li, who won the 2011 French Open and 2014 Australian Open to trigger a tennis boom in China, will visit the camp on Wednesday to practice with the youngsters while sharing her inspirational stories.

Wang Xiyu, winner of the 2018 US Open girls' tournament and who also attended the 1123 academy appeared at the camp's opening ceremony to encourage her fellow teenage players to work hard on the fundamentals.

"I hope more players can draw inspiration from these experienced players and coaches and learn to improve every aspect of their game at the camp, just like I did," said the 17-year-old, who won her first national title in 2013.

Young players will visit the ongoing China Open, Asia's biggest women's and men's combined tournament, to watch live games and interact with professional stars during the camp.
