KYMCO chairman sets sight on global electric scooter market

The largest scooter manufacturer in Taiwan recently announced two new groundbreaking electric models that demonstrate its commitment to making electric scooters a popular reality for the average consumers in Asia, and beyond.
The new models are the tip of the iceberg with regards to KYMCO's electric vehicle plans for the near future. The company boldly sets to launch 10 distinct scooter models within the next three years and transform the electric scooter landscape starting with Taiwan, the Chinese mainland, and India which boast the world's highest scooter density.

Upholding the brand values: Distinctions, pride, and persistence
Founded in 1964, KYMCO has achieved 40 percent market share and is the market leader for the 18th consecutive year in the scooter market. Its footprint covers five continents and over 100 countries all over the world.
"We launched our revolutionary e-scooter solution 'Ionex' in March in Tokyo, successfully establishing KYMCO as the leader in e-scooter total solution in two-wheeler industry," KYMCO chairman Allen Ko said. More importantly, the new series signals the company's commitment to its brand values.
The beautiful retro-styled New Many 110 EV scooter, which is already available throughout Taiwan, is designed for the younger generation of electric converts with its practicality and affordability, while the upcoming Nice 100 EV aims to attract a wider audience of electric converts starting in October.
With this goal in mind, the Kaohsiung-based company again relied on its brand spirit, "Win My Heart," to develop its new products. A motto that has helped the manufacturer to overcome the challenges and obstacles of this changing world and bring its brand to the next level.
"Win My Heart" is based on the company's three pillars – "Distinctions, Pride, and Persistence" – which have led KYMCO into a respected global brand. "It's our longstanding conviction to dedicate ourselves to creating the most thoughtful riding experience for everyday life," added Ko.
To begin with, "Distinctions" means that scooters need to be not only different from alternatives, but also superior, just like the New Many 110 EV and Nice 100 EV. While other electric scooters compromised their under-seat storage space for battery installations, KYMCO used innovative design to make it larger than ever.
Removing batteries is smooth and fun, while riders are free to rely on the power outlet network or a charge point network at an energy station. This well-thought system and countless innovative technical breakthroughs ensure that users feel "Pride" when using KYMCO vehicles, he said.
These developments also show the company's "Persistence" when it comes to make progress day after day and, over time, achieve what was previously unthinkable. Twenty years ago, KYMCO launched its first electric scooter; back then, the range was 30 km, and the charge time was 6 hours.
