Wang Yi discusses Korean issue with top US diplomat

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi expounded on China's principles and position on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue during a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang said at a regular press conference that China hopes the United States and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea could fully implement the results of the Singapore summit between their leaders.
According to Lu, China hopes the two countries could take positive interactions, and join hands to discuss the effective way to comprehensively solve each other's concerns, thus making the political settlement of the Korean nuclear issue a sustainable process.
China also reiterated its clear and consistent position over the enforcement of related resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, he added.
