Chen Yixiong, a photographer from Chaozhou city in Guangdong province, has dedicated himself to combining Chinese lotus painting with photography, creating distinct lotus artworks.

Some of his lotus-themed works were selected by the 13th Shanghai International Photography Festival in 2016 and won the gold award at the 25th Guangdong Photography Exhibition in 2014.

The lotus symbolizes holiness and purity, and has been praised by writers and poets across all generations. "I have a deep affection for the lotus, and its virtues always affect my heart," Chen said. He has traveled around the country to capture the journey of lotus in different places and seasons.

Based on nearly 10,000 photographs, he has since tried to fuse photography with the techniques of traditional Chinese painting, using modern digital technology to create something new.
