Temple fairs, lantern shows light up childhood memories

Temple fairs and lantern shows have a long history in China. Wish trees, candied haws, clay figurines and lantern art, all bring back warm childhood memories of Spring Festival.

The ongoing 2018 Spring Festival Lantern Show and Temple Fair, which kicked off on Jan 26 in Guanshanhu district, Guizhou's provincial capital Guiyang, has therefore been attracting crowds of people who all want to experience a traditional Chinese new year again.

The second stage of the fair will run until March 2. Click on the video below to take a closer look at some of the most beautiful lanterns on display.
