Luxiansen (Mr Dear), a band founded in 2015, saw their most popular song Chunfeng Shili (Spring Breezes Miles) claim the most reviewed song award, after it received more than 200,000 online comments on the NetEase Cloud Music website and app.

While singer Xue Zhiqian was awarded singer of the year for his string of hit songs, the most welcomed female musician award went to Jin Wenqi, singer of the Chinese version of Oscar-nominated animated film Song of the Sea.

Unlike traditional award ceremonies, which are normally selected by celebrity jury panels, the NetEase event shortlisted the winners using big data analysis of online clicks and comments.

The event presented 12 awards, ranging from the biggest newcomer to best movie or television drama theme song.
