Sustainability remains another core concept in Finland when it hosts winter sports events, including sustainable development in environment, society, economy, and culture. Take the Lahti stadium as an example, a swimming pool was built next to the ski jump, which makes the site available for both winter and summer events, and also a model for space saving. The central lawn, used as the start of cross-country skiing in winter, is transformed for other sport in summer with no lay-up period.
