A new look

Robert Daly (second from right), director of the Kissinger Institute on China and the United States at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, unveils the institute's new logo which uses the calligraphic Chinese character Ji as drawn by China's ambassador to the US Cui Tiankai (center) and given to former US secretary of state Henry Kissinger (second from left) as a gift, in Washington on Tuesday. Wilson Center President Jane Harman (left) and former US ambassador to China Stapleton Roy (right) attended the ceremony. The character, which means foundation, is the first character in Kissinger's last name in Chinese. See story on page 2. Photo by Cai Chunying / China Daily
