Some veterans also attended China's V-Day Parade at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing. The veterans were granted honorary citizenship of Kunming, where they had fought alongside the Chinese 70 years ago.
The former comrades-in-arms looked back and shared that period of history with local citizens, hoping their spirit and the friendship between the two peoples would be inherited by future generations.
