BUENOS AIRES - At least six people were killed and 100 others injured when a metro and a bus collided outside the capital city early Tuesday.

According to the police, there were still some passengers trapped in the deformed metro compartments and bus. The metro line runs from the city center to the western suburbs.

At about 06:00 local time Tuesday, a city metro collided with a bus which was rushing to pass a road junction close to a metro station when the crossing gate was going down. The metro transportation in the capital had thus been interrupted.

The injured have already been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment after rescue workers raced to the spot.
