PYONGYANG: An American was detained for trespassing on the border of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) with China on Monday, the official KCNA news said on Thursday.

Another American who illegally entered the DPRK in December last year was still under detention. Their crossing comes just months after the DPRK freed two US journalists who had been arrested in March and sentenced to 12 years of hard labor for trespassing and "hostile acts."
Former US President Bill Clinton visited Pyongyang in August to take the two reporters home.
