SEOUL: Police are seeking an arrest warrant for a lecturer for allegedly stealing a copy of a standardized admissions test used by American colleges, the second such case recently, a news report said Sunday.

The suspects are accused of tearing off sections of the SAT exam at a high school in Gyeonggi Province near Seoul during Saturday's exam and leaving with the copies, Yonhap news agency said.

The 36-year-old lecturer, who taught test a preparation class at a private institute in Seoul, told police that he took the test papers to use as instruction material for his students, Yonhap said.

The College Board, which administers the exam, sometimes releases old tests to help students prepare, but questions on exams that are not released can be used again.

Repeated calls to police went unanswered on Sunday.

The investigation comes on the heels of a similar case where a private language school teacher allegedly helped two South Korean students in the United States cheat on the SAT exam last year by obtaining a copy of the exam ahead of time from a Thai student in Bangkok.
