PRAGUE: An airport official says a fire broke out in the control tower of Prague's international airport, forcing delays and cancellations of some flights.

Airport spokeswoman Krejci says the fire, which broke out around 5 a.m. (0400 GMT) Saturday, has been extinguished, but planes could not land and take off till 10:30 a.m. (0930 GMT).

Krejci said 10 flights had to be canceled and 17 were diverted to other airports, including Karlovy Vary in western Czech Republic and airports in Dresden and Berlin in Germany. Delays are expected for dozens of flights Saturday.
