UNICEF launches Global News Day for Children

Photo taken on Oct. 27, 2009 shows seven-year-old Lamine has dinner in a village 80 kilometers north of Dakar, capital of Senegal, Oct. 27, 2009. The basic education in Senegal is free. Most children go to study Koran before they enter elementary schools. Teachers in the elementary schools use the Wolof language to teach the juniors, while French to teach the seniors. Lamine's father is a doorkeeper of a foreign organization. He treats education seriously, so he sent all eight school-aged children to school. Lamine has to do housework after school every day.
