Two US pilots killed in helicopter crash in Iraq

BAGHDAD: Two US pilots were killed in a helicopter crash north of Baghdad, the US military said on Monday.

The two pilots were killed on Sunday during a hard landing in the province of Salahudin, a military statement said without giving further details about the incident.

An investigation about the incident is underway, the statement said.

The names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, it added.

The latest deaths bring the number of US service members who have been killed in Iraq to more than 4,360 since the US-led war on Iraq in 2003, according to the Pentagon figures.
