The former Indonesian record holder was a 6.7 kilogram (14.7-pound) baby boy born on the outskirts of the capital, Jakarta, in 2007.
In March 2007, a bus conductor in Beijing gave birth to a 6.25 kilogram (13.7 pounds) baby boy in Fengtai Hospital of Beijing, which is the heaviest baby born in China ever.
The previous heaviest baby in China, 6.15 kilogram(13.56 pounds), was born in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province in 2006.
Guinness World Records cites the heaviest baby as being born in the US in 1879, weighing 10.4 kilograms (23.75 pounds). However, it died 11 hours after birth.
The book also cites 10.2-kilogram (22.5-pound) babies born in Italy in 1955 and in South Africa in 1982.
