Bomb blast kills civilian, wounds 2 in E. Afghanistan

KABUL: A bomb ripped through a shop in Khost province east of Afghanistan claiming the life of one person and wounded two others, all of them civilians, spokesman of provincial administration Kuchi Nasiri said Thursday.

"The blast took place inside a shop Wednesday in Nadir Shahkot district left one innocent civilian dead and injured two others," Nasiri told Xinhua.

Meanwhile, Taliban purported spokesman Qari Yusuf Ahmadi claimed responsibility and in talks with media via telephone from undisclosed location said the militants targeted a pro-government tribal elder Nazim.

The militants, who often targeted government interests, did not give more details.
