The two boats were seized 4 nautical miles west of the capital of Montevideo along the nation's Atlantic coastline. The operation came after Uruguayan fishermen reported repeated incursions by foreign fishing vessels. The navy said these boats had a habit of trawling in Uruguayan waters at night. The two Argentine boats have been towed to a port of Montevideo and their crews have been turned over to the authorities, the navy added. |
