Two killed in Indonesian military chopper crash

JAKARTA - An Indonesian military's helicopter fell down in West Java on Monday, killing two people, seriously wounding three others, military spokesmen said here. 

The accident occurred after the government planned to raise budget for military after a series of accidents on military plane and choppers, killing dozens of people, which is blamed for lack of budget.

"The accident occurred about 14:30 today, the chopper belongs to the Indonesian army," spokesman of Indonesian Military Colonel Guntur Wajhyudi told Xinhua.

Spokesman of army Brig. General Christian Zebua said that the Chopper was operated by Indonesian Army Special Force Unit (Komando Pasukan Khusus/Kopassus).

The chopper type of Bolco manufactured in 1988 crashed at Rawabeber village of Pagelaran district of the province during a regular training, the spokesman said.

"Two are dead, and the pilot and co-pilot suffered from serious injury, and another suffers minor injury," Christian told Elshinta radio.
