Facebook exec considers California AG job in 2010

Updated: 2009-04-30 10:50 SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The chief privacy officer of networking website Facebook says he's considering running to be California's attorney general in 2010. Chris Kelly said Wednesday he formed an exploratory committee to consider a campaign to be the state's chief law enforcement official. Kelly says the state needs a "strong consumer protection advocate" and that he has worked with attorneys general nationwide through his work at Facebook for the last four years. The 38-year-old Democrat worked in US President Bill Clinton's administration before joining Facebook. San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris is seeking the AG post. The incumbent, Jerry Brown, is considering a run for governor in 2010. |
