Updated: 2009-04-13 10:14 ALTON BAY, N.H. -- A massive Easter fire has damaged dozens of buildings on the grounds of a Christian center in New Hampshire.
There are no reports of civilian injuries. One firefighter has been hurt. The fire erupted at 4:30 pm Easter Sunday, when Christians were celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The fire's cause hasn't been determined. The center's Web site says its purpose is to change lives in part by "encouraging commitment to Jesus." It says it tries to accomplish this through evangelism, encouragement of believers and equipping Christians to be effective leaders. The center was founded in 1863. It sits along New Hampshire's biggest lake. |
