LIMA - The Special Penal Court of Peru's Supreme Court on Tuesday sentenced former Peruvian president Alberto Fujimori to 25 years in prison for "crimes against humanity."

Fujimori was found guilty in the Barrios Altos and La Cantuta cases, of massacres that killed a total of 25 people, and also convicted of the kidnap and torture of journalist Gustavo Gorritti and businessman Samuel Dyer.
Fujimori's defense team said he would appeal the case.
