TEHRAN -- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Saturday that Iran is willing to change if US President Barack Obama changes his country's attitude towards the Islamic Republic.

"They (US officials) put forward the slogan of change, but in fact we did not see any change," Khamenei said in a televised speech in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad to mark the Iranian New Year.

"We will observe and judge accordingly. If you change your attitude, we will change ours," he said.

His remarks came one day after Obama released a video message calling for a "new beginning" of engagement with Iran.
