Obama, Ban discuss economic crisis and food supply

WASHINGTON - US President Barack Obama said on Tuesday he had discussed with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon the "potential threat" to food supplies if the global economic crisis worsens.

Obama has spent the first several weeks of his young administration addressing the economic crisis in the United States. He made the comments about food supplies after a meeting with Ban at the White House.
